App: To Be Free — walk to clear the world's fog
To Be Free is a GPS exploration app: the world starts covered in fog, and it clears only where you physically walk. Below are answers to common questions. If you need more help, contact us — we read every message.
Frequently asked questions
- The fog isn't clearing where I walk. Make sure location permission is granted in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → To Be Free, set to "While Using" or "Always". The app needs a clear GPS signal, so results are best outdoors.
- My exploration disappeared / I switched phones. Sign in with Apple, then use Settings → Cloud Backup → Restore from Cloud. Backup and restore are per-difficulty, so repeat for each difficulty you play.
- How is my score calculated? Your score is the percentage of the entire world you've uncovered on foot, shown to 10 decimal places.
- How do I change my nickname? Open the leaderboard or account settings and choose "Change nickname".
- How do I delete my account and data? Email us at the address above with your nickname, and we'll remove your account and all associated data within 14 days.
- Ads aren't showing. Ads are served by Google AdMob and may take time to appear for a newly launched app. This does not affect gameplay.
